The Dumbest Thing You Can Do About Generators

Electrical generators have penetrated our lives many days ago, not only in the commercial sectors nut also at an individual or domestic level. We buy generators according to our requirements and while doing so, we make the decision on the basis of our budget and the power requirements we have. That’s fine, but you are missing a little point – the stability, performance and longevity of the generator.

Yes, the dumbest decision you can make about diesel generators is by ignoring the three factors that I have mentioned just now:

  • Stability
  • Performance
  • Longevity
OK, so must have got my point by now and I assume that you agree with me,
because doing otherwise will only cause you more harm. Just like any other heavy machinery, this asset of yours must be checked against the three parameters mentioned above, and if you are not doing so, you are probably doing the dumbest thing anyone can do while buying New Diesel Generators.
Imagine this – you are trying to run your back-up generator during peak loads. It may be that your requirement reaches the peak at some parts of the day, some days a week or during natural calamities and grid failures. But whenever you are trying to run the generator at the peak load, it is not responding well to the situation and after a while it breaks down! This is purely a case of lackluster performance.

Also, it might happen that at some days it runs just fine, especially during the summer days. But during the rainy days or winters, it groans and moans. It causes problem regularly and you need to call a mechanic or a technician to look into the matter and they charge you hefty sums for troubleshooting the issues. These are the type of problems that becomes acute if you are looking to buy Used Diesel Generators, as it doesn’t gets covered by manufacturer’s warranty. What else can you call thus but lack of stability?

Also, many a times it is observed that while the manufacturer advertises and claims that the generator will run for ages, it is usually observed for cheap generators that their lives are a fraction of what is being claimed by the manufacturer. You cannot take any action against this, as they will show you a fine point with an asterisk that everyone misses - *under ideal conditions. And this set of ideal conditions can never be created in practice! Ultimately, you are the one who loses money.

There is only one possible solution in the realm of Electrical Generators – buy Diesel Generators from reputed brands. You may have to invest a little bit more initially and that can cause you same pain, but it will surely save a lot of trouble in the days to come. This is especially true for generators that will be used in commercial facilities, as they simply cannot afford to stay without power, which will mean a double loss for them. For most cases where there will be heavy duty applications, F G Wilson generators or any other brand from a available bunch of Perkins Generators will be the best choice.
